SAP stands for Systems Analysis Products in Data Processing.  SAP is an international software company based in Germany that produces ERP software. ERP software is a fully integrated system that connects all areas of a company. When one employee inputs data in the system, it automatically updates the data in all other areas of the company. SAP is one of the largest ERP companies. All fortune 100 companies and 80 percent of fortune 500 companies use it.

SAP is growing in the upper Midwest.  Companies that our graduates are employed with like Caterpillar, John Deere, Pepsi, Cargill, and General Mills use it. In September 2008, there were 2,000 jobs in the upper Midwest that required or preferred experience with SAP.   If students have experience working with this software it will make them a better candidate for jobs in the future once they reach graduation.  SAP is currently being worked into the curriculum of business and accounting classes at UWP.
